SAMBOREE
June 17-21, 2015
Twin Falls County Fairgrounds, Filer, ID

The Samboree took place at the Twin Falls County Fairgrounds in Filer. The theme of this year's event was "PUT THE MAGIC IN YOUR STEP". The registrar reported that 96 rigs attended the event.

After the colors were presented we were welcomed to Filer by mayor Rick Dunn and other community leaders.

Stacey Rabung, Good Sam Club Director of Member Services, attended the Samboree. She even tried her hand at milking the cow.

Wednesday night's entertainment was a magic act that was enjoyed by all.

We were also entertained by a dance band called, "Throttle Back".

On Thursday a fleet of buses transported many of us to The Herrett Center for Arts and Science which is a non-profit museum on the main campus of the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls. The Center collects, preserves, interprets, and exhibits anthropological artifacts and natural history specimens with an emphasis on the prehistoric American continents. The Faulkner Planetarium is the largest planetarium theater in Idaho, seating 144 under a 50' dome.

Just so you know that we played our usual outdoor games, bean-bag baseball and swing-golf.

There were a large number of first-timers in attendance. A breakfast in their honor was hosted by Joyce Barcus and Jennie McCormick.

Freda hosted the Samettes Tea while Raggedy Ann and Andy entertained.

In the meantime, the men visited with a representative from the Department of Fish & Game.

Jim and Mary Allen organized the Dutch Oven Cookoff. There were many participants and plenty of good food for folks to taste.

Frank Sargent and Gary Warr won the Tractor Rodeo. There were a dozen or more teams participating.

There were many seminars and exhibits.

Thank Goodness for Mack Butler.

15 of our friends were memorialized.

The veterans performed a flag retirement ceremony. Many of us got to participate by burning a retired flag in honor of a loved one.
