SPRING FLING
April 15-18, 2015
Washington County Fairgrounds, Cambridge, ID
The Spring Fling took place at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Cambridge.
The theme of the event was "HELLS CANYON RENDEZVOUS". Cambridge is the
gateway to Hell's Canyon and there was a tour of the canyon on Wednesday.
We were welcomed to Cambridge by members of the community, the Commercial Club and fairgrounds staff.
While the women held their tea indoors, the men visited with two state troopers outdoors who addressed issues with driving RVs on state highways.
As usual we patronized businesses in the community. We nearly overwhelmed the senior center who was good enough to host a special potato bar for us.
Many of us enjoyed visiting the museum.
The weather was good and we were able to enjoy playing outdoor games. There were both Bean-bag Baseball and Swing Golf tournaments outdoors. Tournaments were also held indoors for Pinochle, Pegs-and-Jokers and Mexican Train.
Dick and Carol Deutsche announced that Idaho was fourth in the nation in Dogs for the Deaf contributions last year.
The Miracle Maker award was presented to Kaveman Travelers for their support of Dogs for the Deaf.
Let's Dance! We were entertained with a variety of music provided by Les and Nancy.
The final number,
God Bless America, prompted an impromptu patriotic gesture from the audience.
